Andy Biggs is Soccer Maine's first ever full-time director of coaching. Andy brings a wide range of experiences as both a player and a coach to soccer in our state. A Maine native, Andy came up through the ranks of the state's ODP before going on to Middlebury College. After completing his collegiate career in 1993, he headed to New Zealand to play with the Wellington based club, Western Suburbs AFC. Upon his return to the United States, Andy moved west to play in Phoenix with the USISL's Arizona Cotton.
As a coach, has worked extensively with both youth and collegiate players. During his time in New Zealand, he helped to direct his club's youth coaching initiative in area elementary schools, and coached in the country's first soccer program for girls. In Maine, Andy has worked in the Olympic Development Program, and coached premier teams for both Odyssey Sport 97 and Maine Coast United. In addition, he has also spent the last five seasons as the assistant men's soccer coach at the University of New England.

Dean has been Mass Youth Soccer’s State Head Coach and Director of Coaching from 1997 to 2002. A 1970 graduate of Georgetown University, he was a teacher from 1973 to 1997. Dean is well respected and serves as a National Staff Instructor for US Soccer. He has US Soccer “A” License, a US Youth Soccer Youth license and also holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. In his free time, he serves on the Board of Directors of New England Scores and the Women’s Soccer Foundation, and is an advisor to City Kicks, an after school program serving several Boston area middle schools.
GERRY CORRIENational Referee Instructional Staff; National Grade
A native of Scotland, Gerrie lives in Staten Island, NYC. Assigned to Referee four Region I tournaments, he blew the whistle for the Boys U-18 National Final in 1994. Gerrie made National Grade in 1997, and has been working MLS games since that year. He has been the Referee for 40 MLS games, including two playoff games. Gerrie has one International 'cap' to his credit, El Salvador v Ecuador, and has worked exhibitions games in the US involving some of Europe's top clubs. He was appointed to the National Instructional Staff in June of last year.

Matt Driver was elevated to Assistant Coach of the New England Revolution on November 6, 2002, after serving in an interim assistant coaching capacity during much of the 2002 campaign. Driver was originally hired to join Steve Nicol’s staff on June 6, 2002. He had entered his sixth year as head coach of the South Jersey Barons (Division 3 Pro League) before coming to Foxboro. Driver also served as Technical Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Barons. He was also NSCAA Director of Coaching and Director of Olympic Development Program for the State of Delaware.
As head coach of the Barons, Driver led the team to two regular season conference titles, one regular season national title and one appearance in the National Finals. His on field success is paralleled by his off-the-field success, as he expanded the South Jersey Barons into one of the best organizations at the D-3 level in the country.
Prior to his coaching career, Driver began his professional soccer career at the age of 17 as a striker with several professional clubs. Driver's playing career has taken him through three countries, including England and Germany. In England he played with the Bury Football Club, formerly of the English third division, and Burnley Football Club, formerly of the English fourth division. Driver also enjoyed a stint with S.C. Herford, formerly of the second division of the German Bundesliga. He has also played domestically with the Albany Capitals and the Boston Bolts of the American Soccer League.

Boston University Women's Head Coach since 1995. Former Head Coach at Plymouth State and Lake Forest. Former Assistant Coach at Smith College and University Of Massachusetts-Amherst. Named the New England Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1993, Little East Conference Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1991. National Chairperson of the NSCAA All-America Committee from 1989-1995. Served with the NCAA Regional Selection Committee from 1992 to 1995. Region 1 ODP Assistant Head Coach. USSF "B" License, Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA.

Jerry and Michele Holland are graduates of the University of Lowell, in Physical Therapy, with numerous post graduate and continuing education courses with a concentration in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and Sports Medicine. They are actively involved in lecturing to the community, health care providers and schools about rehabilitation and the prevention of injury. Jerry has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Nashua Senior High School since 1989. Michele is the assistant athletic trainer at Londonderry High School. Jerry and Michele were both able to lend their experience in evaluating and treating Olympic hopefuls at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY. Michele has also worked with our national Men and Women's Bobsled team while they trained in Calgary Canada.

JEFF PILLWomen's’ National Staff Coach; USSF 'A' License
Pill began his coaching career at the Derryfield School, in Manchester NH, establishing what was then a National Record by winning seven consecutive state championships. He then became the first full-time director of coaching for the NH Soccer Association, working to increase the state’s number of registered players from 5,000 to 30,000. In 1998, he assumed the duties of the U-14 National Coaching Coordinator for US Soccer, serving Region I. His duties involved player identification and development at the U-14 level.
Since that time, his duties with the Federation have changed considerably. He was one of the original two coaches hired by the then World Championship coach Tony DiCicco, to become the Women’s National Staff Coach for Region 1. His duties have included working with the Women’s National Team programs and identifying and developing the next generation of World Champions. Last spring, he took the U-18 National Team to Bulgaria to compete against the Senior National Teams of seven other countries.
Jeff continues to work in this capacity for US Soccer, working closely with the state and regional ODP programs, attempting to raise the standard of play from the grassroots level on up to the professional leagues. Pill has earned his ‘A’ License from US Soccer, as well as his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and National Youth License from US Soccer.

Mark Ruest is currently the NHSA Director of Coaching in charge of education for the recreation and competitive programs for the New Hampshire Soccer Association. He comes to the position after teaching Elementary School Physical Education for eleven years and being named the NH Elementary School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2001. During that time he has had the opportunity to coach and teach individuals at all levels from preschool to adult.
Mark has been involved with the NHSA for the past six years serving as an Olympic Development Team Coach and a Coaching Course Instructor. He is a member of the Region I Girls Staff and holds National Youth and 'A' level licenses from the United States Soccer Federation.
